Yesterday amongst all the businesses closing and email updates, my husband and I received emails about schools getting out meals to kids who rely on schools for food. While we were both working in our comfortable basement, he shared how seeing that email made him emotional. Growing up, he was that kid.
My heart really hurt for those out there struggling in a new way. As I picked up my boys from their grandparents, I loaded the van with food to take to the food bank. Even for someone with funds, the options at the store were limited to buy, but it is so important to help others in any way we can right now.
In truth, social distancing calls us to a whole new level of service and compassion for those around us not only the families we are now with day in and day out but our communities (and world).
