How can improving your marriage help your kids?
Do you have regular “quality time” with your spouse?
I see many ways that couples do this. Some have set dates, and some don’t. For Brendon and I, we tend to have time together in the evenings at home and go out about once a month when we just have the boys and my parents can watch them. No way is right or wrong, it is just what works for you, your love languages, and feeling connected.
Yesterday was such a treat for us!! My parents had the boys and with the holiday, we had the whole day together. We cooked, hung out, napped, and looked at Black Friday deals. For lunch, I made burgers and a chocolate strawberry parfait. I paired it with a @dryfarmwines red.
For the parfait, I used the @simplemills gluten-free chocolate cake mix to make brownies. Then, I cut up the brownies and strawberries. I layered those with whipped cream in fancy cups.
To make the whipped cream:
– 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
– 4 TSBP maple syrup
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
Finally, I melted stevia sweetened chocolate chips to drizzle on top. So, romantic looking but so easy!!!
I hope you all have time to nurture all your relationships this holiday season!!
